TINY FILM FEST
Tiny Film Fest brings a rich part of cinema history back to Long Beach, where films first took root in Southern California. At its heart, it’s a community-driven celebration where filmmakers from all backgrounds share their stories in micro-short form—brief but powerful. It’s a creative space where storytelling shines in bite-sized moments, and whether you’re a die-hard film lover or just curious, the festival invites you to laugh, cry, and be moved in just a few minutes per film. It’s all about discovering fresh voices and connecting through the power of film.
CREATIVE DIRECTION
As the creative director and one of the executive producers behind Tiny Film Fest, I had the chance to shape everything from the ground up. I designed the logotype as a custom typeface based on a grid system of alternating squares and rounded shapes. This created a framework that was both confident yet friendly, a metaphor for the tiny pieces of detail that create such rich a diverse work within the short film format. This concept extended out through layouts, patterns, illustrations and more, and created a visual identity that felt true to the spirit of the festival. I carefully chose colors and selected fonts that resonated with our audience and crafted a clean, easy-to-navigate website that made the films shine. It was important to me that everything felt cohesive, from social media to the site, in our all important inaugural year, while making sure our brand strategy aligned with the heart of the festival.
